So the winner of The Purpose of Christmas book is Judy!  Please email me your address and I will send it out to you!

I apologize to all those that tried to comment on my contest post.  I have heard from some friends and family that they were not able to post a comment for some reason.  And I don't know enough yet to figure out what the problem might be.  If anyone has any suggestions please let me know!  I am sorry again to all those who tried to comment.  I will hopefully have other contests in the future.

A Visit with Santa

Ok so Bill and I stopped at Petsmart on Sunday to grab some treats for the boys because we were out and guess who was there--SANTA!  I looked at Bill and he just knew what was going to happen next.

He was only there for another hour so we ran home, got Kahlua and Oreo, and made it back in plenty of time.  The Humane Society of Missouri was putting it on so I don't feel so bad about being crazy because the proceeds are going to a good cause.   Kahlua was timid as usual and Oreo warms up to anyone right away.  I am surprised that Kahlua even sat next to Santa on the floor and didn't move.  They did a good job and I think it turned out cute.

And don't forget to enter to win one of my favorite books from my last post.  You can check it out here

My Favorite Christmas Book GIVEAWAY!

The Purpose of Christmas by Rick Warren

We hear all the time "Jesus is the Reason for the Season"  but do we really make Him the center of the celebration?  I know for myself that it is easy for my focus to get lost when I am standing in lines forever long in the stores in December, or when I am bombarded with Frosty, Rudolph, the Grinch, etc, or when I am worried about how I am going to get everything done in a short amount of time.  There is always so much to do during the holiday season and it can get very overwhelming to me at times.  So I was very happy to come across this book a few years ago.  I have opened it the past couple years since as a reminder to myself of Who and What we are really celebrating.  It helps me keep all my preparations toward Jesus and his birthday.  The book is not long so it is easy to read at a busy time.  In fact, the first year I read it I was able to finish it in just a few days.  Now I like to take a few minutes in the evening to savor a few pages at a time.  It has become my favorite Christmas book and that is why I wanted to share it with you.

I happen to have an extra copy of the book and would like to give one of my reader's a special gift this Christmas.  If you would like to receive this book there are two ways of entering the contest.  1) Leave me a comment on this post sharing how you try to keep Jesus as the Reason for the Season and 2) Become a Follower of my blog and leave me an additional comment that you are either a current follower or have added me.  So you can earn up to two entries.  I will pick a winner at random on December 8th.

Good Luck!
