My Favorite Christmas Book GIVEAWAY!

The Purpose of Christmas by Rick Warren

We hear all the time "Jesus is the Reason for the Season"  but do we really make Him the center of the celebration?  I know for myself that it is easy for my focus to get lost when I am standing in lines forever long in the stores in December, or when I am bombarded with Frosty, Rudolph, the Grinch, etc, or when I am worried about how I am going to get everything done in a short amount of time.  There is always so much to do during the holiday season and it can get very overwhelming to me at times.  So I was very happy to come across this book a few years ago.  I have opened it the past couple years since as a reminder to myself of Who and What we are really celebrating.  It helps me keep all my preparations toward Jesus and his birthday.  The book is not long so it is easy to read at a busy time.  In fact, the first year I read it I was able to finish it in just a few days.  Now I like to take a few minutes in the evening to savor a few pages at a time.  It has become my favorite Christmas book and that is why I wanted to share it with you.

I happen to have an extra copy of the book and would like to give one of my reader's a special gift this Christmas.  If you would like to receive this book there are two ways of entering the contest.  1) Leave me a comment on this post sharing how you try to keep Jesus as the Reason for the Season and 2) Become a Follower of my blog and leave me an additional comment that you are either a current follower or have added me.  So you can earn up to two entries.  I will pick a winner at random on December 8th.

Good Luck!

  1. well especially this year am I keeping Jesus in Christmas because I don't know if it will be my last one with Jerry or if the grand kids will have there last Christmas with him. last week little buddy,[ thats what I call him ] came hunting for his grampa, his favorite person [ buddy is on;y 10 months old ] he loves to terrorize grampa by not leaving a single thing untouched on his current table used for all methods of survival. [ water, locked meds, Kleenex, glucose machine] you name it he wants it. all of a sudden I will hear Jerry say,"judy, will you come get this baby,he won;t leave anything alone" but I'll say,"but jer,he;s been waiting for you to wake up to say hi"
